Vega Doubts Nike Wrongdoing Over Soccer Player Payments

March 15 (Bloomberg) — Ramon Vega, chief executive officer of Vega Swiss Asset Management, talks about Nike Inc.’s involvement in a criminal trial in France over payments made to soccer players.
Nike’s French unit is accused of taking part in a scheme to hide payments used to entice players to the Paris Saint-Germain soccer team while avoiding employment taxes. The sportswear maker’s French subsidiary is on trial along with two former Nike executives, Paris Saint-German soccer club, former club officials and player agents. Vega speaks with Bloomberg’s Andrea Catherwood in London.
