Are NCAA and NAIA football rules the same?

March 9th, 2010

The rule that i am refferring to is the rule that your gloves must be grey in college football.

I’m not sure. I do know that the NCAA changed their rule slightly this year that only the backs of the hands need to be gray though.

TyranusX has no idea what he’s talking about. There are hundreds of differences in the rules between NFHS (high school) and NCAA (college). There are hundreds more between NCAA and NFL. AFL is almost a completely different game. Don’t even get me started on CFL.

How much would it cost for a full-gear american football outfit for grade schooler, high school and college?

March 9th, 2010

Helmet, body armor, jersey, pants, shoes, gloves etc.

Grade schooler about $150-$200. But if you don’t grow much, you’ll be able to wear the same equipment into High School and college.

Are there any white starting running backs in FBS or NFL football?

March 9th, 2010

My friend has this theory that white guys are too slow and/or fragile to play running back in upper-level college or nfl football. I agree, but we were wondering if there are any white starting running backs in the FBS or NFL at all. Also, if there are none, does anyone know who/when the last starting running back somewhere was white? This is NFL, not college.

Note: I’m not looking for fullbacks or other blocking backs, but for ball-carrying ‘backs.

Yes there are a few…

Sam McGuffie played for Michigan his freshman year, but he transfered to Rice & will have to sit out till 2010 to play. Once he gets back on the field, he will be a starter & he’s one of the most unbelievable RBs i’ve ever seen. Go to youtube & look up his high school highlights.

Toby Gerhart is the starting runningback for Stanford. He had over 1,000 yards rushing last year, and also set the school’s single season rushing record. He’s going into his senior season this year.

Peyton Hillis started a few games last season for the Denver Broncos, but he’s also a fullback too.

Brian Leonard is a RB/FB that plays for the Cinncinnati Bengals, and he carried the ball alot in college, but not that much in the NFL.

The last white RB to lead his team in rushing in the NFL was Nick Goings for the Carolina Panthers in 2004. He still plays for the Panthers, but he is mostly a backup now at both RB & FB.

What soccer shoe would be most comfortable and efficient for flat feet?

March 7th, 2010

I have flat feet, but I am still really fast. I want to know what you think the best soccer shoe to get would be that would be comfortable on my feet, while giving me speed and control.

i just use my cleats and add insoles. u can buy ones with arch support. when u add insoles it makes any shoe a "good" shoe. my doctor recomended them for me because of my flat feet. u can get them almost anywhere. most drug stores have them. and they can be removed.

Is there a way to watch HD College and Pro football games from my pc?

March 7th, 2010

I’m willing to pay if the service is good but I’m looking for an application or video streams or something where I could watch past football games and possibly current ones. In particular I am looking for Hi-Definition videos but if there are none than standard definition is fine. Any suggestions?

What is the most lopsided game in college football history?

March 7th, 2010

In 1916 Georgia Tech, under coach John Heisman, beat Cumberland University 222-0.

Cumberland had -28 yards for the game.

That is right.

The year before Cumberland had beat Georgia Tech under allegations that they were using pros as ringers. Cumberland had discontiuned its program before the 1916 season, but Heisman insisted on playing the game due to the scheduling agreement or Cumberland would have to pay Georgia Tech, $3,000.

Cumberland actually had -28 yards of offense (their longest play was 10 yards) and committed 15 turnovers.

When did college football rules change so a team scoring via TD or FG kicked off rather than received a kick?

March 7th, 2010

Rules of college football in the 1920s specified that if a team scored, they received the ball again via kickoff. This led to some lopsided games (the infamous Georgia Tech 222, Cumberland 0 is an example). Sometime after 1929 the rule was changed out of sporting fairness. But when?

I doubt if that rule ever existed. Except on playgrounds. The rule gives the scored-upon team the option of kicking off or receiving.
