where can i get a definitive guide to rules of football?
March 24th, 2010 | by admin |I am a big fan of football (like so many others), but one thing strikes me. that is when it comes to the rules governing football, most fans (myself included) and commentators don’t really know the exact rules of football.
this week we had a contensus free kick in the Lille V Man utd game. So i went searching for the rules in relation to free kicks on the web. Both fifa.com and the english FA site had ‘rules of the game’, but both made no reference to Referee procedures during freekicks, or the nature of a quick free kick versis the normal free kick. For a game that is watched more than any other sport, i find it astonding how much lake of clarity with regard to rules and referees decicions there is.
Compare to formula 1, where they have rules down to the last milli metre of the dimensions of the front wing.
Does someone know if there is a referees guide to refering matches which details the procedures? or is it just a big conspiracy to keep old joe in the dark?
go to the FA.com and look in the shop it has a offical referees rule book on there. you can also get a dvd for referees

You have answered your question do not ask a referee because they obviously havent found one yet. It is like the Koran all about interpretation and the person following it!!
