What do you think about changing football rules in Professional and International play?

Increase the number of substitutions allowed from 3 to 5 and give coaches more freedom of to change their tactics during the course of a game.

Throw away the offside rule completely. I know its purpose, but what if it was gone, could there be more action in the game?

The game is great but how could these or other rules impact the game good or bad? Be open minded and any other suggestions I’d like to hear.
Too many refs get the offside rule wrong, plus if someone chooses to cherry pick they would take themselves out of the current run of play. You would make the entire field open ground and increase the number of goals scored.

How about instant replay cameras in the goalbox…. that should happen.

Perhaps the substitution rules could be changed. Even changes as radical as "time outs" to allow for teams to talk strategy with the coach without the clock running.

As for the offsides…I think it should stay. With out it, there would basically be a player hanging out by the goal. Each team would not have to handle the ball up the field. They would just kick it to this team member for a one on one with the goalie.

No keep it how it is and I hate timeouts. It’s waste of time and I don’t want to see commercials.

If you took away offsides the entire nature of the game would change, and not for the better. I know this idea has been tested and played out before and the result was a number of players hanging out by the goal for both teams and some in the middle running themselves ragged. Goals actually go down because for every player who tries to gain an advantage being closer a defender marks him and thus the advantage is negated.

So far as the subs go, 3 is plenty at the International level.
