Its a safety...and for your info if the ball is fumbled out of bounds in the endzone that is also a safety...Anyhow I played college football, I remember somehow with 1.35 on the clock 4th quarter we were down by 4 against Umass, we got pinned at our own 1 yard line..Do you believe we drove down field and I had a big block on the linebacker and we won the game......More info can be found at my source.
References :
http://www.ratemycollegefootballexperience.com

It works just like a touchdown. If any part of the ball is crossing the plane of the endzone its a safety. Better hope for a good spot Team A.
References :
it would be s safety, the football has to be completly out of the endzone, but i wouldnt matter, because the quarter back had possession of the ball and was down in the endzone
