What was that one college football team that lost because a penalty?

There was some college football team who lost because of a failed conversion because of a penalty where the guy who got the touchdown tossed the ball up in the air. I think their uniforms were purple. Could someone tell me which game this was??? This was about a month or two ago if I remember correctly.

Washington was playing BYU and the Washington QB got the penatly after he scored a touchdown, so the penatly moved the extra point attempt back. And the kicker missed the extra point so they lost.

How does college football work in America?

Ok, I recently brought a PSP game called NCAA 2007. Having played Madden for many years I know what Im doing on the football field…but then there’s all this college stuff I dont understand like redshirts (what on earth is a redshirt and why do I want one!?) what are juniors, seniors and freshmen (there’s anotherone that I cant remember off the top of my head) and how do I make them climb the ranks of seniorhood? And how the hell does the ranking system work with bowls and the heismen trophy work!?!? In season recriuting…what is going on there!?

They are all terms I’ve heard of but I have no idea (other than playing the football game itself) what any of these mean!!! Any help?

Redshirts- You can Redshirt a freshman player. he can not play that year, but will become a better player through experience and training. I may be wrong, but they also get an extra year of playing time.
2- The Freshman, Sophmore, Junior, and Senior "Ranks" are what year of college the player is in. If you’re entering college, you’re freshman. If you’re in your last year, you are a senior. Students progress once a year: Freshman-Sophmore-Junior-Senior.
3- The BCS is a hazy mystery, but four bowls every year are known as the sites for BCS Bowls: Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, etc. As for getting to bgowl games themselves, the only way to ever be sure you’re going to get in is to win. Unlike the pros, there are no playoffs. You play one game and that’s it. Just one loss in the regular season can dash all hopes of being in the title game, and even some teams that have went undefeated weren’t invited.
4- Recruiting, In-Season and normal, are just the colleges trying to get High School seniors and JUCO(Junior College) Students to come to campus.
5- Hesiman Trophy- It’s the best player in the nation, just like the MVP in the NFL. It is open to all college players in Division 1, be it Defensive, Offensive, Freshman or Senior and everything in between.

How will life be like for me as a college football player majoring in engineering?

I will be transfering to University of Florida to play football after playing 2 years of juco football as a safety or corner. I also plan to major in chemical engineering which will be my life dream if I dont make it pros. How will college life be like for me playing college football at the best football school in the nation and attending a top 30 engineering institution.

Well, forget having a social life. I had a friend who tried to play varsity hockey as an aeropsace major and he quit the team after a week. This guy was really smart, too but he couldn’t handle both.

You will probably end up taking a very light load of easier classes in the fall and then pay for it by taking very heavy loads in the spring and summer. You may even end up taking extra time to graduate.

Is College football the biggest joke in the history of the universe?

It doesn’t even have a logical way of crowning a legitimate Champion?

Computers? Polls? Opinions? What the?

College football makes a mockery of the spirit of sports by not having a playoff and not crowning a legitimate Champion. Unless all the top teams play one another there is no way to say who is the best. All major sports have a playoff. Pro football, baseball, basketball, World Cup soccer all have a rational way to crown a champion.

college football is a joke. What’s the point in paying attention to it when no true Champion is crowned?

It is not a joke, name me another sport in the world where the level under the pros gets as much attention as college football does. DO we need a playoff? HELL YES. Think of how much college basketball gets in their playoff now think of how much college football would get. It would be amazing.
